Scooter Hire Rules
- Please do not leave us until you feel totally confident.
- Set the speed to ‘slow’ until you feel confident.
- If you stop for any period, turn down the speed control.
- Watch out for other visitors – remember you are below their eye level and out of their view.
- Never let anyone else ride your scooter – no passengers are allowed, especially children.
- Always be alert and keep your eyes and ears open.
- If you have an accident, no matter how small, you must return to the hire desk immediately and report it.
- People under the age of 14 are unable to use the scooter.
- It is necessary to have good eyesight in order to loan an electric scooter.
- You are responsible, not only for your own safety, but also for that of others.
Terms and Conditions
- You (the User) declare that:
- You are at least 14 years of age.
- You reasonably believe that you are capable of safely operating the scooter.
- You have not been medically assessed as being unfit to operate the scooter or any anything similar to it.
- You are not on or taken any medication that would affect your ability to operate / drive the scooter.
- You will take good care of the scooter at all times during the loan period, and will ensure that it is used only in accordance with the instructions provided.
- Only you will use the scooter, in particular, but without limitation, you will ensure that no passengers are allowed to ride on any scooter or to stand on the back bumper or platform of the scooter.
- The scooter will not be taken outside the event boundary, or driven on the road.
- The scooter must be returned to the hire desk by the specified time at the end of the loan period (4.00pm on day of hire) in the same condition as it was supplied to the User.
- You accept full liability for any loss of or damage to the scooter , and any injury to the User, or any third party caused (in each case) during the loan period.
- You must remove any keys and apply the brake whenever you leave the scooter unattended.
- Never attempt to get off the scooter unless it is in a safe, switched off mode.
- You must immediately report to the hire desk any loss of or damage to the scooter , and any accident causing personal injury to anyone or any damage to property. Reports should be made in person to the hire desk personnel at the event or by calling 0800 953 7000.
